At 3:39 PM the cargo ship "Ocean Explorer" entered the river Thames. The boat was followed by LCPF marine unit's vessels until it reached its spot where it was met with officers from the LCPF's Tactical Robbery Unit, Gang Crime Unit, Special Operations Unit, Emergency Task Force, K9, Criminal Investigation Division and Forensics who had a search warrant for the vessel ands arrest warrant for one of the four crew members. The officer boarded the ship and found substantial amounts of illegal weapons, counterfeit money, and a notebook containing locations which these illegal items were going to be delivered to. This all happened after a long investigation into a shooting revealed a weapon smuggling ring, which we have been working on taking down ever since. Tomorrow (Sunday, December 6th, 2020) at 1:30 pm, a press conference will be held outside of the LCPF HQ in which the crews names and charges will be revealed. More busts to come soon. Over the course of the next two weeks, the LCFB will be conducting inspections on all buildings three floors and taller, making sure they have all the correct Fire safety equipment. If you are not available to talk to, we will try to reschedule at a time when you are available top talk to. Please be aware that the laws around fire safety equipment has changed. The following new laws are in place:
-If the building is three stories tall it must have a fire escape system that has been approved by the LCFB. -All buildings bigger then 16x32 studs are required to have standpipe system -All buildings that are smaller then 16x32 studs must have a minimum of one fire extinguisher per two floors. -The responsibility for setting all this up falls on the properties official owner, not the tenant. -All buildings open to the public require working Fire & Carbon Monoxide alarm. One per floor. If you don't5 have any of these things in place at the time of the visit you will be given 5 days to fix this. After 5 days and unless you can prove you couldn't install the equipment within those 5 days the property will be seized from you. If you need help installing Fire safety Equipment you can contact your local LCFB station and arrange a visit where they will help you for free. More info on the LCFB website. A brand new station id planned for the LCPF South Division. This station will house one patrol car, one Armed Response Vehicle, and one Traffic Motorbike. It will also house a detective squad and be the new home of the LCPF Gang Crime Unit. It is planned to open on January 5th, 2020.
Nice photo taken of one of our officers in their ATV during their patrol of the Food District. Stay safe!
Aside from a couple updates too the "Organization page" and the release of the Live CAD the LCPF Public Affairs office has been really inactive. This is due too the COVID-19 virus. Under the guidelines of Lego City Public Health the LCPF Public Affairs office was not deemed a necessary service and was temporarily shutdown. This has been changed as things started to open up again. You may have also noticed that there had been no issues of the LCPF Behind the Badge magazine for the last couple of months. Once again this is due to the virus. We are working very hard to create a "Winter 2020" issue of the magazine and are thinking of making it digital and available on this website! Stay tuned for more updates now that we're back in the office including a tour of the brand new expansions recently added to the LCPF HQ! Thanks for reading!
On the evening of October 3rd, 2020, patrol units were called to a Nightclub in New Lego City for a male refusing to leave. Patrol units (along with PSRT officers) gave the male a warning and he left. Half an hour later the male returned and was arrested for trespassing. Whilst running his info officers noticed that a warrant for his arrest had been put out by the LCPF Gang Crime Unit. Officers from the unit responded and were able to identify him as a man that was wanted in relation too a smuggling incident 2 months ago. He is now in LCPF custody.
2 people have been charged in relation to the shooting that took place earlier this week. 1 man has been charged with illegal possession and discharge of a firearm in city limits, and another man has been charged with aggravated assault. LCPF are currently investigating how and where the firearm used in this incident came from. A news conference this matter open to any member of the press will happen today @ 2:00 PM in front of the LCPF headquarters.
We are still looking for the remaining 2 suspects of the drive-by shooting that took place a couple months ago. LCPF officers were able to detain 1 suspect for further questioning at 8:19PM 6/4/2020 in relation to the most recent shooting after we hacked his mobile phone and learnt that he was planning a stroll around South Lego City. He is facing charges of murder, assault, and illegal discharges of a weapon/ handling of a weapon without a permit.
Just a reminder to please keep your distance during this tough time.
